Abstract
Branding in health care represents a strategic framework that defines organizational identity and aligns stakeholders. In dermatology, it plays a central role in fostering patient trust, strengthening professional credibility, and shaping public perception of the specialty. In early 2020, the American Academy of Dermatology undertook a comprehensive, research-driven rebranding process grounded in qualitative and quantitative methodologies to better understand member perspectives and align its identity with strategic priorities and organizational mission. Foundational research demonstrated strong performance in education and advocacy while identifying gaps in perceived innovation, transparency, and member engagement.
